Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi had organized five days “STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAM” from 9th Jan 2023 to 13th Jan 2023 for students admitted to First year of D. Pharm., B. Pharm., M. Pharm. and Pharm D courses. The main aim of this program was to help the newly admitted students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new college environment as well as to acquaint them with the various activities held during the academic year.
The students had a thorough orientation about the academic expectations and requirements, as well as opportunities available for students and their participation in different extracurricular activities and clubs. These activities build a strong foundation for a successful and fulfilling college experience.
The five days Induction program included various sessions for student development which boosted their physical and mental growth.
Day 1: 09 Jan 2023
Session 01
Mr. Prashant Uppal conducted session on moral value education, which highlighted on instilling and developing moral values in individuals.
Session 02
Dr. Shilpa Chaudhari, Academic Coordinator, briefed the students about the rules and regulations to be followed in college. Also, she stressed on the importance of behavior and approach of the student so as to maintain the decorum of college.
Session 03
Dr. Shubhangi Jadhav presented a mindful overview about the Pharmacy Profession. She elaborated about the pharma sector and worldwide career opportunities. Mr. Sumit Mude and Ms. Krisha Mirani, students of M. Pharm, shared their experiences and numerous achievements at national level with all the freshly admitted students.
Day 2: 10 Jan 2023
Session 01
Second day of Induction started with a rejuvenating Yoga Session by Mrs. Supriya Balkawade. Mrs. Supriya is an experienced yoga teacher having 20 years of experience in the field. She elaborated on the importance of yoga for a healthy body as well as a healthy mind. She quoted that “If our mind is healthy only then it will support us brilliantly”.
Session 02
BK Akansha Didi conducted session about human values. She explained the core values of life like humanity, love, relationship, gratitude and their importance for living a peaceful life. She also helped individuals to identify and reflect on their own values, and how these values can be incorporated into day-to-day life.
Session 03
Ms. Shubhangi Bhagat, Tutor coordinator, explained to the students how mentee can achieve their set goals with the help of mentors along with academics. She motivated the students to showcase their hidden talents, through different social activities organized at the institute, state and national levels.
Session 04
Mr. Sandip Kshirsagar –NSS Programme Incharge, summarized the details of NSS and explained about different activities conducted under NSS via video.
Day 3: 11 Jan 2023
Session 01
Third day of Induction program started with the first session by Mr. Mukesh Mohite, Student Club Incharge. He explained the functioning of these clubs and its role in developing a sense of community, leadership and networking among students. Sir stressed that the motive of these clubs is for the overall development of the student.
Session 02
Dr. Sanket Kadam, shared information about the social media platforms of our college. Sir urged the students to follow the college account of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LINKEDIN to have time-to-time updates about the happening in the college and campus.
Session 03
Ms. Ravina Mutha briefed about the Scientific Days celebration in college and students role in it. Celebration of these days helps in increasing public awareness and highlighting the contribution of scientists in various fields.
Session 04
Dr. (Mrs.) Pallavi Chaudhari, Training & Placement Officer, guided students about training activities and career enhancement via guidance sessions, industry visits, pre-placement talks and campus drives conducted within the college.
Day 4: 12 Jan 2023
RAdm Amit Vikram (retd), Campus director, Mr. Sanket Kulkarni, Alumnus (Chief Guest), Senior Manager, Sanofi, Mumbai, Dr. (Mrs.) Shalaka Parker, Dean, MBA and Soft Skills, Dr. (Mrs.) Jasmita Kaur, Dean Placement, Ms. Shruti Seth, Soft Skills Trainer, Behavioral Counselor, Dr. N.S. Vyawahare, Principal, DYPCOP, Dr. (Mrs) S. P. Chaudhari, Vice-Principal, Mr. M. T. Mohite, Program Co-Ordinator and Ms. Sarika Deshmukh welcomed all the parents & students for Induction Programme.
The induction Programme started with MAA SARSWATI POOJAN & LAMP LIGHTING ceremony.
Mr. Sumit Mude highlighted about the different sessions conducted during the 5 days Induction Programme. The program started with the release of “TECHNICAL MAGAZINE” headed by Dr. Sudhir Pandya. This was followed by felicitation of academic rankers of all courses.
Dr. N. S. Vyawahare, highlighted different courses and their career opportunities. He also stressed out that students should actively participate in various activities to mark his presence at global level. Campus Director, RAdm Amit Vikram introduced students and parents with campus rules and regulations and asked students to follow the mantra “ATTITUDE GIVES YOU SUCCESS”.
Mr. Sanket Kulkarni, Senior Manager, Sanofi, Mumbai shared his college journey and role of college in shaping his future. He explained the importance of tough path that a student has to follow to stand out in crowd. If a student has any weakness, try to convert it into success.
Dr. (Mrs.) Shalaka Parker, Dean, MBA and Soft Skills interacted with students and guided the students about the importance of soft skill development. She also congratulated the students for their success for selecting the pharma profession.
Dr. (Mrs.) Jasmita Kaur, Dean Placement, discussed about the various skills required to face the challenging interviews. She focused on the preparation, importance of curricular and extracurricular activities and in turn own grooming. Ms. Shruti Seth, Soft Skills Trainer and Behavioral Counselor delivered some important soft skills to students and the role of parents in their success. Induction ends with the energetic interaction of parents with students followed by a college round.
Day 5: 13 Jan 2023
Day five started with a session by Dr. Vaibhav Vaidya who gave a brief of all 5 days sessions. He proposed the vote of thanks to students, parents and the Co-Ordinator of the program for their management of the program.
The Induction program concluded with an energetic Zumba Session by trainers Amol & Ravi for an hour. Everyone’s face brightened up after the session.
